Ron Lee Ward Jr. is an accomplished songwriter, producer, pianist, singer, and studio engineer whose music seamlessly bridges gospel, jazz, and contemporary sounds. Gifted from an early age, Ron’s extraordinary talent was evident from his first piano recital. Raised in the DMV (Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia) area as the son of a minister, he developed a strong musical and spiritual foundation that continues to influence his artistry today.
A graduate of Yorktown Business Institute, Ron currently serves as the Minister of Music at Asbury Town Neck United Methodist Church. He is also a voting member of the D.C. Chapter of the Grammy Nominating Committee and a proud member of the ASCAP Publishing and Writers Association, reflecting his respected standing within the music industry.
Ron’s creative work spans multiple genres and platforms. He has written, produced, and arranged music for movie soundtracks, major-label recording artists, and live productions. His commitment to excellence has led him to participate in notable gospel workshops and conferences, including The One Accord Project (OAP), 100 Men in Unity, and the Hampton Music Ministers Conference.
As a recording artist, Ron has released five smooth jazz albums—It’s Just Music Vol. 1, It’s Just Music Vol. 2, Melodies from the Heart, Ron Ward Jr. & Friends, and the holiday favorite This Christmas—all of which reached the Top 10 on multiple smooth jazz charts. His hit single “What the World Needs Now” has surpassed one million streams on Spotify, solidifying his growing global audience.
Ron is currently preparing the release of his debut gospel album, The Order of Service. The lead singles—“Falling in Love with Jesus,” “The Highest Praise,” “Doing Great Things for Me,” and “Our God Is Here” featuring DorRay Ward—have already earned national recognition and radio airplay.
